Magnolia stellata

Magnolia stellata, also called star magnolia, is a small to medium-sized deciduous magnolia shrub with a round, bushy, upright shape and narrow oval, dark green leaves. It blooms in March and April with fragrant white star-shaped flowers that can contain up to 18 white ribbon-shaped petals. Magnolia stellata likes a position in full sun or light shade, somewhat sheltered from strong winds and prefers a not too heavy, acidic to neutral moist soil. This magnolia is low maintenance, needs little pruning, is fairly hardy, can tolerate some air pollution.
