Aster divaricatus

Aster divaricatus, is a bushy upright autumn aster with large, serrated, heart-shaped, dark green leaves. This forest aster flowers profusely from July to the end of September with small, creamy white, star-shaped, daisy-like flowers with a yellow center. It likes a sunny or partial shade and fertile, well-drained soil. It is very hardy, attracts many butterflies, bees and insects and is also very tolerant to sea wind and air pollution. It is fairly resistant to mildew but can occasionally be plagued by botrytis and leaf spot.
