Aster amellus 'Rudolf Goethe'

Aster amellus "Rudolf Goethe", is a bushy upright summer aster with smooth, lance-shaped, medium green leaves. This summer bloomer blooms profusely from July to the end of September with lavender-blue daisy-like flowers with a yellow center. It likes a sunny position or light shade and fertile, well-drained, slightly moist soil. It is very hardy, attracts many butterflies, bees and insects and is also very tolerant to sea wind and air pollution. Unfortunately, it can be plagued by mildew, wilt, leaf spot and or be preyed upon by aphids, snails and nematodes.
