Aucuba jap. 'Crotonifolia'

Aucuba japonica 'Crotonifolia' is an evergreen, yellow variegated ornamental shrub with a bushy habit. The large leathery, serrate leaves are light green in color and interspersed with numerous yellow specks. This female aucuba flowers in April and May with small purple flowers, if a male aucuba is nearby, small red berries follow after fertilization. This plant likes a position in partial shade or shade and an acid or neutral, well-drained soil. It is hardy, drought tolerant and tolerates sea wind and air pollution.
