Nymphaea 'Pygmaea Alba'

Nymphaea "Pygmaea Alba" is a true dwarf water lily. This small, white-flowering hybrid is suitable for medium to small ponds. The small leaves first appear olive green and then, during the season, turn a decorative darker green with brown spots. This water lily blooms from June to September, with small, slightly fragrant, cup-shaped, white flowers with a golden yellow center and the diameter of the flower is just 3 to 5 cm. As soon as the flower has finished blooming, the seeds sink to the bottom. Nymphaea "Pygmaea Alba" likes a position in full sun, a water depth of 0.15 to 0.40 meters and a nutrient-rich soil. The plant is very hardy, attracts butterflies, bees and other insects, tolerates sea wind and slightly brackish water and is also tolerant of air pollution.
