Verbesina alternifolia

Verbesina alternifolia is the tallest species among the Maiden's Eyes. The plant makes you look up. The flowers are of a bright yellow with a dark brown center. On sturdy stems they stand out against the dark green leaves. Late in the summer, the plant begins to bloom in full, a beautiful sight. Has finished flowering and in winter Verbesina alternifolia still stands her ground. The flowers are attractive to bees, bumblebees and butterflies.
