Veronica longifolia "Blauriesin", also called "long speedwell" in Dutch, is a deciduous perennial with an upright, pol-forming habit and narrow, slightly hairy, lance-shaped gray-green leaves. Veronica longifolia "Blauriesin" flowers from June to August with attractive gentian blue terminal flower spikes. This speedwell prefers a sunny position and requires well-drained, moderately fertile, preferably somewhat calcareous soil. The plant is hardy, fairly drought tolerant, tolerates sea wind and air pollution. The plant is little affected by pests. Veronica longifolia "Blauriesin" is suitable as a cut flower, dried flower, ground cover, coastal plant and also in the rock garden.
