Sagina subulata
Sagina subulata, also called fatwall or prime fatwall, is an evergreen, grassy, carpet-forming perennial with a turf-forming habit and small, emerald-green, needle-like, but soft-to-the-touch leaves. Sagina subulata blooms from May to August with a sea of small, star-shaped, white solitary flowers. The plant likes a position in partial shade and does well in any soil that is not too wet or dry. Fatwall is very hardy, tolerant of sea wind and air pollution and has little trouble with diseases or vermin. This native plant is at home in the rock garden, between tiles, under trees and shrubs and can also be used as a grass substitute.
