Lysichiton camtschatcensis
Lysichiton camtschatcensis, also called white swamp arum. This perennial has an upright and clump-forming habit. The dark green leaves look a bit like banana leaves and can grow up to 1 meter long. Lysichiton camtschatcensis blooms in April and May with arum-like flowers, a 30 cm green, long spike emerges and it is surrounded by a beautiful, white bract. The flowers are rather unpleasant, strongly musky scent and attract numerous insects thanks to this scent. Red berries follow in summer. Marsh arum likes a permanently wet place, a water depth of 5 to 10 cm is ideal. The plant is also very hardy, tolerant to sea wind, even tolerates brackish water, has little trouble with diseases and vermin and can also handle some air pollution.
