Nymphaea 'Perry Almost Black'

Nymphaea "Perry Almost Black" is a profusely flowering, dark red water lily, which is especially suitable for large and medium-sized ponds. The plant has large, almost round, leaves that emerge purple-red and then slowly turn green. This water lily flowers from June to September, with beautiful, pleasantly scented, peony-like, deep red flowers, with an even darker center and nicely contrasting yellow stamens. As soon as the flower has finished blooming, it begins to sink to the bottom. Nymphaea "Perry Almost Black" likes a position in full sun or partial shade, a water depth of 0.40 to 0.70 meters and a nutrient-rich soil. The plant is hardy, attracts butterflies, bees and other insects, tolerates sea wind and slightly brackish water and is also tolerant of air pollution.
