The aromatic leaves are dark green, ovoid and have a silver-gray leaf margin. This thymus blooms in June and July with small lilac-colored flowers in round flower heads. The plant prefers a position in full sun and a well-drained, not too fertile, reasonably dry soil. Thymus citriodorus "silver queen can be pruned back in early spring and even after flowering, a light trimming is recommended. This plant is hardy, drought tolerant, tolerates sea wind and air pollution, attracts bees and butterflies and is virtually free from pests or diseases.
