Polystichum set. 'Dahlem'

Polystichum setiferum "Dahlem" is called soft needle fern in English. It's a nice, fairly recent selection. It has bipinnate, soft, light green to silver green leaves that hang gracefully. This fern likes a sheltered position in partial shade or shade and a well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich, slightly moist soil. Polystichum setiferum "Dahlem" is hardy, reasonably tolerant to air pollution and sea wind, and once well established, sufficiently drought resistant. It has few pests and is also disease resistant.
