Polemonium caeruleum "Album" is called white Jacob's ladder in Dutch. It is an attractive, deciduous perennial with a bushy habit and feathery, light green, sword-shaped leaves. This Jacob's Ladder blooms in April and May with fragrant, cup-shaped, white flowers with orange-yellow stamens. Polemonium caeruleum prefers a position in partial shade and a well-drained, moisture-retaining soil. The plant is very hardy, tolerant to sea wind and air pollution and is not bothered by many pests.
