Phlomis russeliana

Phlomis russeliana is called fire herb or tier flower in Dutch. It is an evergreen perennial with an upright, clump-forming habit and gray-green to almost silver-gray, sage-like, oval leaves. The plant blooms in June and July with fragrant, butter-yellow, almost dead-nettle-like flowers followed by beautiful decorative seed pods. Phlomis russeliana likes a position in full sun and well-drained fertile soil. Fire herb is drought tolerant and hardy. This phlomis is also sea wind tolerant and disease resistant.
