Nymphaea 'Sioux'

Nymphaea "Sioux" is a beautiful, orange water lily for the medium to small pond. This wonderfully scented water lily blooms from June to September, with medium-sized, star-shaped, yellow budding flowers that quickly turn orange and finish copper red. As soon as the flower has finished flowering, the seeds sink to the bottom. The leaves are large and round, purple-red at first and later more uniformly green-brown. Nymphaea "Sioux" likes a warm position in full sun or partial shade, a water depth of 0.40 to 0.80 meters and a nutrient-rich soil. The plant is hardy, attracts bees and other insects, tolerates sea wind and is also tolerant to air pollution.
