Nepeta mussinii

Nepeta mussinii, also known as catnip, is a deciduous perennial, with a wide-spreading, clumping habit. The small leaves are aromatic, slightly hairy, oval, pointed, serrated and gray-green in color. This catnip blooms from May to September, with violet-blue, tubular flowers in loose whorls. Nepeta mussinii likes a sunny position and a well-drained soil. The plant is very hardy, reasonably drought tolerant and, provided some protection, can also be used well in the coastal region and in the urban environment. Nepeta attracts butterflies, bees and other flying insects.
