Black grass or Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Black Dragon' is an evergreen and striking perennial. Sometimes it is also counted among the ornamental grasses, because of its pol-shaped growth habit. The maximum height of black grass is about 20 cm. The leaves are elongated and purple-black in color. The flowering time of black grass is in the months of July and August; white-pink flowers then appear between the leaves. Very special! Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Black Dragon' thrives best in sun or partial shade. Black grass is not very demanding in terms of soil type.
