Miscanthus sinensis
Miscanthus sinensis is a tall-growing, pollen-forming ornamental grass with reed-like stems and narrow leaves. White veins run in the center of the leaves. The first growth of this ornamental grass appears in the spring. As the summer progresses and the heat increases, this grass species only starts to grow considerably. In August – September Miscanthus sinensis flowers with beautiful, upright plumes. These panicles first take on a reddish brown color. Later in the fall they turn silver-grey. The foliage also changes color in autumn, from green to golden yellow. Finally, in winter, the leaves of Miscanthus sinensis slowly die.
