Imperata cylindrica
Imperata cylindrica , called Japanese blood grass in Dutch, is a fairly invasive deciduous grass species with a stiff, upright growth and loose clump-forming habit. The narrow linear leaves are fresh green with a white center stripe, flowering is rare in Europe. In other regions, Japanese blood grass blooms from July to August with silvery white flower panicles. Imperata cylindrica likes a sunny and sheltered position in well-drained soil.
