Geranium 'Blue Blood'

Geranium 'Blue Blood' is a deciduous (hybrid) cranesbill with a wide-spreading, carpet-forming habit. The leaves are light green and five-lobed. This geranium blooms in July and August with beautiful deep blue flowers that have decorative blue-black veins. the plant prefers a position in partial shade or sun, but also in full shade and is satisfied with any well-drained, not too fertile soil type. To extend the flowering period, it is important to regularly remove the faded flowers. Cranesbill is hardy, sea wind tolerant and once established also fairly drought tolerant. Geraniums are also good bees and butterfly plants and are fairly tolerant of air pollution.
