Salix repens

Salix repens, also called creeping willow, is a small, usually multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub with a creeping, ground-covering habit. The leaves are elongated oval, gray-green above and silvery white below. The creeping willow flowers in April with yellow egg-shaped male catkins or greenish-white female catkins. After all, the tree is dioecious, male and female flowers bloom on separate trees. This tree likes a position in the sun or partial shade and a sufficiently moist soil. Salix repens tolerates pruning very well and can also be pruned every 3 years. This tree is very hardy, tolerates sea wind and air pollution and has yellow leaves in autumn. Has been one of the most planted white willows for decades.
