Fothergilla major

Fothergilla major, or sometimes also called lampshade shrub in Dutch, is a deciduous medium-sized shrub with an upright shape. The leaves are dark green on top and blue-grey below with very beautiful autumn colours. In March and April, fragrant white flowers with a pinkish tint appear on the bare wood. The fothergilla likes a position in full sun or partial shade with a preference for acidic moist soil. This plant requires little pruning and maintenance.
