Euonymus al. 'Compactus'

Euonymus alatus 'Compactus' is a small deciduous shrub with a beautiful compact spherical shape and striking square branches with corky frames. The plant flowers in May and June with inconspicuous yellow-green convex flowers hidden between the fresh green, oval, almost elliptical serrated leaves. In autumn, light red four-lobed fruit pods with orange seeds adorn the euonymus, as well as the beautiful bright red autumn coloring of the leaves. The dwarf cardinal hat is very hardy, does well in any type of soil, can withstand pruning, is air pollution tolerant and also resistant to sea wind and can be used as a coastal plant.
