Eupatorium perfoliatum

Eupatorium perfoliatum, native to North America, is a robust plant with creamy white umbels on sturdy and hairy stems. The flowers smell slightly of vanilla.

The leaves are lanceolate, opposite and sessile, that is, without petiole attached directly to the stem. Which in itself is a characteristic of this species.

The leaf is yellow-green and hairy on the underside.
