Alisma parviflorum

Alisma parviflora, in Dutch called water plantain, is a deciduous aquatic plant with an upright, widely spread habit. The leaves are spoon-shaped, almost round and have a shiny dark green color. Water plantain blooms from June to August with purple-pink flowers in a panicle-shaped inflorescence. Alisma likes a position in full sun and prefers to stand 10 to 30 cm deep with his feet in the water, although he can also temporarily cope with drier conditions. The plant is hardy, tolerates sea wind and is disease resistant.
