Nymphaea 'Sulphurea'

Nymphaea 'Sulphurea' is a beautiful, sulfur yellow water lily, which was already introduced in 1879 and is suitable for the medium to large pond. The large leaves first appear bronze-colored and then, during the season, turn decoratively darker green, with dark purple to maroon-red spots. This yellow water lily blooms from June to September, with medium-sized, scented, star-shaped, sulfur-yellow flowers, with a slightly darker yellow center and the diameter of the flower is 12 to 15 cm. As soon as the flower has finished flowering, the seeds sink to the bottom. Nymphaea 'Sulphurea' likes a position in full sun, a water depth of 0.40 to 0.80 meters and a nutrient-rich soil. The plant is very hardy and attracts butterflies, bees and other insects.
