Rhododendron 'Cosmopolitan'

Rhododendron 'Cosmopolitan' is a medium-sized, evergreen, rhodo with a wide upright, densely branched shape. The leaves are narrow, oval, slightly glossy and dark green in color. This caucasicum hybrid blooms mainly from May to June, with funnel-shaped, pink-purple flowers with dark red to purplish-pink spots in the throat, grouped in conical clusters of up to 10 to 18 flowers. This rhododendron prefers a location in filtered sunlight or partial shade, sheltered from harsh winds and with a shaded root zone. It requires an acidic, moist, well-drained soil that should never be allowed to dry out completely, requires little pruning and is hardy.
