Carex remota

Carex remota is found in the Caucasus, Northern Iran, Syria, northwest Africa and large parts of Europe.

Grows mainly in forests and along waterfronts.

Forms dense clumps of long narrow overhanging leaves and has a very thin white inflorescence.

The small spikelets are on the flower stem and are widely spaced.

Requires moist to wet, nutrient-rich, rich, acid soil.
