Thymus praecox 'Doone Valley'

Thymus "Doone Valley", called variegated creeping thyme in English, is an evergreen perennial. This thymus has a bushy, creeping, ground-covering habit and lance-shaped, golden-green, aromatic leaves. Thymus "Doone Valley" blooms in June and July with small pink to purple-pink flowers in round flower heads. The plant prefers a position in full sun and a well-drained, not too fertile, reasonably dry soil. Thymus "Doone Valley" can be pruned back in early spring and even after flowering a light trimming is recommended. This plant is hardy, drought tolerant, tolerates sea wind and air pollution, attracts bees and butterflies and is virtually free from pests or diseases.
