Thymus praecox 'Coccineus'

Thymus praecox "Coccineus" is called creeping thyme in Dutch. It is an evergreen perennial with a bushy, low habit and dark green, downy hairy, aromatic leaves. Thymus praecox "Coccineus" blooms in June and July with a true sea of flowers of pink-red flowers. The plant prefers a position in full sun and a well-drained, not too fertile, reasonably dry soil. Thymus praecox "Coccineus" can be pruned back in early spring and even after flowering, even light trimming is possible. This plant is hardy, drought tolerant, tolerates sea wind and air pollution, attracts bees and butterflies and is virtually unaffected by pests or diseases.
