Salvia nem. 'Ostfriesland'

Salvia nemorosa "Ostfriesland" (syn. "East friesland"), also called sage, is a deciduous perennial with a compact upright shape and dark green, oval to elongated, aromatic leaves. This popular sage blooms from May to August with violet-blue flower spikes and pink bracts. It may be cut back after the first bloom to encourage a second bloom in the fall. The plant likes a position in full sun and does well in almost any well-drained soil type. Salvia nemorosa "Ostfriesland" is hardy, fairly drought tolerant, tolerates sea wind and some air pollution.
