Polygonatum multiflorum is called the Solomon seal in Dutch. It is an elegant, deciduous shade perennial. The leaves are blue-green and ovate to elongated in shape. Solomon Seal blooms from May to early July with small, white, tubular, pendulous flowers. Later followed by very sweet, but also poisonous blue-black berries. Polygonatum multiflorum prefers a position in the shade or partial shade and a moist, moderately fertile soil. The plant is very hardy, tolerant to sea wind and air pollution and good disease resistance.
