Kniphofia 'Alcazar'

Kniphofia 'Alcazar', in Dutch called flare or torch lily, is a striking and popular deciduous perennial with a bushy upright, pol-forming habit. The leaves are lanceolate, grassy, rough-edged, dark green to blue-green colored. Kniphofia 'Alcazar' blooms from July to September with beautiful cylindrical and straight orange-red to orange-yellow flowers. The plant prefers a position in full sun and a neutral to acidic, humus-rich, well-permeable, moisture-retaining soil. This rocket is fairly hardy, tolerant to sea wind, tolerates air pollution, attracts bees and butterflies, is disease resistant and only occasionally suffers from snails and black aphids.
