Delosperma cooperi, syn. Mesembryanthemum cooperi or afternoon flower in English is a small evergreen perennial or succulent with a bushy, ground-covering shape and narrow, fleshy, glandular, gray-green leaves. The plant blooms from May to July with abundant pink to magenta flowers, resembling daisies. Delosperma cooperi prefers a position in full sun or partial shade and a slightly acidic to neutral, well-permeable, lime-free, stony soil. the plant is fairly hardy, very drought tolerant, reasonably salt and sea wind resistant, good disease resistant and air pollution tolerant.
