Syringa patula 'Miss Kim'
Syringa patula "Miss Kim" is a medium to small deciduous lilac with a bushy and rounded growth. This cultivar barely grows to 6 feet (1.8 m.) tall and wide after 10 years. The leaves are ovate to elliptic and dark green in color. In the fall they take on a beautiful wine-red to reddish-purple autumn colour. The flowers are lilac purple to violet purple, strongly scented and are grouped in medium-sized racemes. This lilac likes a position in full sun and needs a minimum of 5 to 6 hours of sun to bloom profusely. As a soil type, it prefers neutral or calcareous soil. Syringa patula "Miss Kim" is hardy, tolerates sea wind and air pollution.
