Nymphaea 'Pygmaea Rubra'

Nymphaea "Pygmaea Rubra" is a true dwarf water lily. This small, pink-red hybrid is suitable for medium to small ponds. The small leaves first appear olive green and then, during the season, turn a decorative darker green with dark purple spots. This water lily blooms from May to September, with small, slightly fragrant, cup-shaped, pink-red flowers, with a golden yellow heart and the diameter of the flower is just 3 to 5 cm. As soon as the flower has finished blooming, the seeds sink to the bottom. Nymphaea "Pygmaea Rubra" likes a position in full sun, a water depth of 0.15 to 0.40 meters and a nutrient-rich soil.
