Veronica spic. 'Rotfuchs'
Veronica spicata 'Rotfuchs', also called "spike ereprice" in Dutch, is a deciduous perennial with a compact upright, clump-forming, almost carpet-forming habit and slightly hairy, lance-shaped, fine-toothed, silver-gray leaves. Veronica spicata 'Rotfuchs' flowers from June to August with attractive pink-red, sometimes almost wine-red, narrow, terminal flower spikes. This Speedwell prefers a sunny position and requires well-drained, moderately fertile soil. The plant is hardy and fairly drought tolerant. The plant tolerates sea breeze, air pollution and has few pests. Veronica spicata 'Rotfuchs' is suitable as a ground cover, coastal plant, city plant and also does well in the mixed border or even in window boxes.
