Schizachyrium scoparium

Schizachyrium scoparium (syn. Andropogon scoparius), also called small prairie grass, is a small to medium-sized deciduous grass with a very upright habit. The leaves are narrow, linear, blue-green colored and slowly spread. In the fall they get a beautiful reddish brown to orange-red autumn colour. Small prairie grass flowers from late July to October with narrow brownish-red flower panicles.
