Antennaria dioica is a very remarkable stocky inflorescence on an unbranched stem with small flowers. The plants occur in groups, which can consist of female (pink), male (white) or both female and male plants.

The plant produces rosette-bearing runners and the leaves are white-gray and hairy with felt-like hairs.
