Physocarpus opulif. 'Dart's Gold'
Physocarpus opulifolius "Dart's Gold" is a medium-sized deciduous Bladderwort. It is a multi-stemmed shrub with an upright and spreading habit, but more compact and refined in shape than the species. The leaves are trilobed, bright yellow to golden yellow, toothed and evolve to yellow-green in full summer to fall yellow to bronze in autumn. This spirea blooms from May to July with white to pinkish white fragrant flowers in umbels that attract bees and butterflies. Physocarpus op. "dart's gold" likes a position in full sun or partial shade, well-drained, humus-rich soil with a preference for slightly acidic soil. The plant is hardy, sea wind tolerant, air pollution resistant.
