Rhododendron impeditum

Rhododendron impeditum is a small evergreen, rhodo with a bushy, compact low-growing form. The leaves are small elliptical and colored yellow-green. This botanical rhododendron blooms in April and May, with small funnel-shaped violet-purple to lilac-pink flowers. This rhododendron prefers a location in filtered sunlight or partial shade, sheltered from strong winds and with a shaded root zone. It requires an acidic, moist, well-drained soil that should never be allowed to dry out completely, requires little pruning and is very hardy, the flowers of r.impeditum can also withstand a few degrees of frost. Occasionally there is also a slight reflowering in the beginning of autumn.
