This beautiful reed has a bushy, compact shape with narrow linear mid-green leaves with a silver-white mid-stripe, which turn a beautiful orange-red color in autumn. Miscanthus sinensis "Kleine Silberspinne" flowers from September to October with silver-pink flower panicles that turn creamy white to light brown later in autumn. This beautiful reed likes a sunny position and a well-drained, slightly moist, moderately fertile soil. Miscanthus sinensis "Kleine Silberspinne" is hardy and, once established, also drought tolerant. It tolerates air pollution and sea wind.
