Cortaderia sell. 'Pumila'

Cortaderia selloana 'Pumila', in Dutch called dwarf pampas grass, is an evergreen grass species with a compact, clump-forming habit and therefore suitable for the small (city) garden. The leaves are narrow, drooping, rough to the touch and colored dark green. Cortaderia 'pumila' flowers from August to October with decoration, creamy white to silvery white, elongated flower panicles. The plant prefers a sunny position and fertile, drained soil. This dwarf pampas grass is fairly hardy but can certainly use some extra winter protection, especially in its young years. This graceful grass is well tolerated by drought, sea breeze and air pollution and is virtually free from diseases or pests.
