Lychnis arkw. 'Vesuvius'

Lychnis arkwrightii 'Vesuvius' is in Dutch called Cuckoo Flower, it is a short-lived, medium-sized deciduous perennial with a pol-forming habit and dark green to purple-red, rough-hairy, oval leaves. The plant blooms from June to August with large, striking orange-red flowers with five sepals. It likes a position in full sun and a well-drained soil. Once established, Lychnis x arkwrightii 'Vesuvius' is drought tolerant, tolerates a maritime climate and is very suitable for the cottage garden and mixed border. This cuckoo flower is hardy, disease resistant and pest free.
