Ligularia przewalskii

Ligularia przewalski, in Dutch called ragwort or greybeard, is a deciduous perennial with a clump-forming, upright habit. The large decorative leaves are palmate, irregularly lobed and colored medium green, in dry conditions they quickly leave their leaves hanging. Ligularia przewalski blooms with pale yellow flowers on long, upright candle-shaped flower stems. The plant prefers a position in partial shade and a humus-rich, cool, permanently moist soil and is perfectly suited for the pond edge or swamp zone. The ragwort is very hardy, tolerant to sea wind, disease-free and because of the band it also has less problems with snails than other ligularia species.
