Hypericum hybr. 'Hidcote'

Hypericum 'Hidcote' is a small semi-evergreen shrub that blooms from the end of July to September with golden yellow star-shaped flowers. This autumn hay variety has medium green to dark green, elongated and lance-shaped leaves, is densely branched and has a wide spreading shape. Sometimes the branches can hang over slightly. Hypericum 'Hidcote' likes a sunny or partial shade position and does well in almost any soil, can withstand some drought and can be radically pruned back every year in the spring. This hypericum is very resistant to disease, can also tolerate some sea wind and is tolerant of air pollution. It attracts bees and butterflies, is fairly hardy and can be used in group plantings as a hedge or ground cover.
