Aconitum carm. 'Arendsii'

Aconitum carmichaelii 'arendsii', also called monkshood in Dutch, is a medium-sized deciduous perennial with a bushy upright shape. The leaves are three to five lobed, toothed and dark green in color, the underside is slightly lighter. In September and October this aconite blooms with deep blue, almost amethyst blue velvety flowers. Aconitum 'arendsii' likes a position in the sun or partial shade in a moist but not wet well-drained humus-rich soil. The plant is very hardy and tolerant to sea wind, air pollution and drought.
