Eryngium plan. 'Blauer Zwerg'

Eryngium "Blauer Zwerg" is a fine, light blue variety of the Cross thistles. The round flowers are light blue in color and a striking appearance in the border, partly due to the thorny character. The faded flowers remain beautifully decorative in autumn and winter and the seed is used by birds as food. Like all Ball Thistles, this species is also a magnet for bees, bumblebees and butterflies. You look for nice companion plants in the contrasts. This plant has a spherical flower. Combine with a plume-like or open flowering ornamental grass, or with a flowering plant, such as an Autumnal Aster or a Sage.
