Epimedium grandiflorum

Epimedium grandiflorum is called elven flower in Dutch and is a small, semi-evergreen, ground cover perennial with a pol-forming habit. The leaves are heart-shaped, the young leaves are bronze-colored with a pink tint, the summer leaves are dark green, in autumn a beautiful bronze-red leaf discoloration follows. Epimedium grandiflorum blooms in April and May with white flowers of up to 4cm with long curved spurs. This elven flower likes a position in the shade or partial shade and a well-drained, humus-rich soil. The plant is hardy, fairly drought tolerant, pest free and resistant to many diseases.
