Dianthus deltoides 'albiflorus', also called stone carnation or zwolse carnation in Dutch, is an evergreen perennial plant with a ground-covering, clump-forming habit. This stone carnation blooms profusely from May to July with white single flowers with five petals and a serrated edge. It likes an airy position in full sun and requires a well-drained, moist to moderately dry calcareous soil. This dianthus is very hardy, but hates wet feet in winter, once established it is fairly drought tolerant and can also be used as a coastal plant. Due to its tolerance to air pollution, it is also suitable for urban use.
